Fatal Tide East Salem Trilogy Lis W Wiehl Pete Nelson Books

Lis Wiehl’s book number three in the East Salem Trilogy, Fatal Tide, does a great job wrapping up the series. “In East Salem, the Elite St. Adrian’s Academy is at the nexus of the satanic apocalypse – and the fatal tide is rising.’ Fatal Tide continues with Tommy and Dani trying to solve the spiritual mystery that has invaded the town. Everything seems to be centered around the school. There are evil entities lurking everywhere. Can they get to the bottom of this mystery before it is too late?
This trilogy brings forward a spiritual warfare that exists around us daily and we may not even be aware of it. I highly recommend reading these books in order or you may be lost. As I posted in my first review of Lis Wiehl’s first book in this series last year, her books are written kind of like Frank Peretti or Ted Dekker. The demons take on physical forms that can be seen as do the angels. There are battles between the two all through the story. She did a good job holding my interest and at times I found it hard to put the book down. I’m not sure it is a good book to read right before bedtime if you are prone to have sleeping problems or nightmares, but I read it anyway. I love this style of writing but if you have a problem trying to visualize the spirit world in a realistic, tangible way you may not enjoy it. If you have never read one of her books I suggest you start to see if you like her writing style. Her style may not be for everyone but I personally love the difference from other authors. I read a lot of different genres of books and the predictable gets old. I thing this series isn’t completely predictable although there are some parts of it that are. There is a little romance going on mixed with mystery and spiritual warfare.
I would recommend this book to others and have done so with my husband. Sometimes (at least in my brain) I feel like men will shy away from female authors I would shout out please don’t take that attitude with Lis Wiehl. Her books are by no means “girlie” books and can be enjoyed by both genders equally.
I received this book from booksneeze.com in exchange for an honest review.

Fatal Tide East Salem Trilogy Lis W Wiehl Pete Nelson Books Reviews

This book is about the forces of Good and Evil, and, although it was interesting, was not the type of book I usually read. It has "horrible creatures" who were Evil, plus the "good" people who were angels on earth and saved the lives of the characters. It kept my interest, but I could feel the evil, and did not like that part of it. Those who like "creatures" and the fight between Satan and God would love it. I kept interested enough to read it all, but in my mind, it was not one of her best books.
I was disappointed in the final book of the trilogy. I enjoyed the first and second books..but the third left me unsatisified. The ending was full of loose ends that dangled in front of the reader's eyes. I would have liked to have had a fourth installment to handle the wedding, what happens with Quinn and Cassandra...and dealing with the aftermath of the demise of St. Adrian's. It certainly was the most farfetched of the three...maybe a bit over the top. Appears that the writers lost their steam in the final novel and just pushed the book over the cliff.
I really enjoyed this trilogy. If you like Frank Peretti (e.g. This Present Darkness) and Randy Alcorn (e.g. The Ishbane Conspiracy), you will love this series. If you don't believe in or care for supernatural warfare (angels and demons), you will most likely hate it, so don't buy it. I thought it was well written, the characters had some depth, and the story line was very interesting. I looked forward to reading it every evening. In fact, I had the first installment in a paperback which I donated to my local library; when I saw the second and third installments, I re-purchased the first on my kindle and re-read it, and then bought the second and third at full price (rare for me) because I couldn't wait to see what happened next.
I've been sitting on pins & needles awaiting the unveiling of the "rest of the story" and what direction the writer would take us. I was not dissapointed. The plot was superb and thought provoking, there are some limitations regarding our thinking process when it comes to the supernatural and how angels and demons interact within life and our culture. It would be a shame to judge this book on the basis of our finite minds and not allow the writers to give us a glimpse of the possiblities in the battle of good and evil. If we keep our focus on the point of this story we will truly appreciate the creativity of the characters on both sides of the spectrum related to human weaknesses such as pride, love, unforgiveness and lack of honesty. It was an excellent story which opens our eyes to the what ifs in life and how God can work in any mystery that unveils as we live our own story.
St. Adrian's Academy is a source for evil . The world's leaders send their sons to be educated but the students are corrupted to do evil as they are tempted with power and riches, and helped along by the powerful drugs they are given. Satan and his evil forces are using the students to implement a master plan of poisoning the waterways around the world - the ultimate chemical weapon of mass destruction.

Dani and Tommy assist Reece, a St. Adrian's student & whistleblower who has escaped, to make contact with his twin brother who is among the selected students to carry out St. Adrian's evil plan . But what Satan has intended for evil, God is the ultimate victor and hindsight reveals that His plan has been in place all along . An exciting conclusion to this series on the battle between angelic and demon forces.
